I was born in St. Louis and my husband and I now live in Shalimar, Florida. Joyce owns a condo at the Ozarks in Missouri. We’ve both rented many condos throughout the U.S. and found yours to be very well equipped. We found it very nice that you supplied tissues, spices, coffee and sugar.

We’ve had a wonderful month here in Cedar Key; it took us away from the winter winds of Vermont! Your condo is so comfortable it almost feels like “home.” We’ve loved the pelicans, herons, egrets, thousands of skimmers, and, of course, the dophins playing each day just a few feet from the deck. When the four of us (Ann, Joe, Jan and Walt) started to plan our annual get together this year, the Florida contingent suggested Cedar Key. Quite frankly, we had never heard of it, but feel that any time spent together anywhere is quality time.
Imagine our delight when we opened the front door to 2-D, the spaciousness and warmth that was eluded made us fee at home instantly. The view from the balcony is too spectacular to describe.
Walking through the small shops and visiting the restaurants has been a delight. All in all, it is certainly one of our more memorable trips.
The place is great….don’t change a thing. Hope to be here again.

Thank you so much for making your lovely home available to us. We needed a little break from our hectic schedule. We enjoyed the fishing and even caught a few for dinner!! We had a week long seafood feast. Leaving with a few wounds from the stone crabs and fishing, but happy and relaxed. Ready to get back to reality.

I can’t put my finger on what makes this place to special so us. Maybe it’s the quaint town or the wonderful condo (which everyone needs for a vacation). Maybe it’s the people of Cedar Key, like Mityson of the Road Committee or Mr. and Mrs. Whitman down the street with all their laid back attitudes. Maybe it was the warm breezes that fell across our faces as we sat on the balcony, watching the wildlife fly by. But, after thinking about it for a while, I must say that it was us who are special. We found that we became “changed” by our surroundings. It was the disconnection from our daily problems and trials of everyday life.
We came to Cedar Key to see the sites but it will be the inner peace in us which will bring us back.
We loved all of the windows to the outside and the porch on which we ate our breakfasts and dinners. The décor made it seem like home to us. We were all at once, “confortable.” Thanks for all of the appliances, towels and “comforts of home.” But, most of all, thanks for the relaxing atmosphere and great gulf breezes!

This is our second time in Cedar Key. Your lovely condo provided a perfect place for us to relax and unwind. The spaciousness and simplicity was very soothing.
We own a business in Wisconsin, and rarely get away. This week, we got away from the business and from the bitter winter weather.
What a joy to sit on your deck and watch the dolphins, or to lay back in a deck chair with the sun on my face and do nothing!
Cedar key is one of my favorite places. Thank you for sharing your special place with us.

My husband and I were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary and were looking for a peaceful place. Well, we found it here, at Cedar Key.
We have been to many places in Florida and this is one of the nicest. The locals are warm and friendly. The views! I can’t say enough about it.
Being here has given us time together; a chance to get to know each other again and for that, I thank you.
We plan on coming back and bringing the children with us. I’m sure they would love it here.

Dear Shirley and Tony,
Thank you very much for sharing your home. We have had a wonderful week – no rain – no cold! We enjoyed visiting by boat each of the surrounding keys. We found something unique and special about each one. The far side of North Key in the cone, yielded us many wonderful shells, conchs, whelks, and assorted jewels from the sea. We have shelled many, many beaches and have been pleasantly surprised and delighted to find some wonderful specimens here. The smaller Shake Key surprised my husband, 13 year old daughter and friend, as well as myself, with the most beautiful sandy lagoon. We swam, ate lunch and basked in the privacy and beauty of the place. On Atsena Otie key we also were fortunate to find many beautiful and large shells.
We were delighted again when we spotted three eagles nests with resident eagles on the island.
The dolphins swam quite close to us every day we boated.
The seafood is probably some of the finest we’ve had and we’ve certainly had our share of seafood!
The other element that made our trip so special was the home that you so graciously opened to us. Your condo was very complete with all the things that one might need for a stay. I enjoyed all of the nice gadgets for making our stay restful and wonderful.

Well…..it’s check out time! Hate to go.
It’s been a great week for our first visit to Cedar Key. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back some day. We spent most of our condo time on your “special” deck chairs Mr. Wells made for you. Saw lots of birds and hiked, boated, walked and ate seafood the rest or the time. What a life!

Thank you for allowing us to spend some time in your home. We live outside of Buffalo, New York, so we thoroughly enjoyed the sun, warm temps, the sun and of course the sun! Your condo had all the comforts of home, and then some. We spent a lot of time on the porch just marveling at the view and on “our” bit of the beach. We walked often into town and around the island. It was a perfect vacation.
Again, thank you for opening your home to us. We hope to return some day with our grown children and grand children.

This is our 6th visit to Cedar Key and our 2nd to Old Fenimore. We’ve had a beautiful week again.
A few days ago, while enjoying the view late in the afternoon, we saw a “pod” of five manatees moving left to right about 50 feet out! It was so special to see them.
We have also loved watching the birds and dolphins. We rented kayaks one day and saw a bobcat while on the trail at the shell mound.

Robert and I have been together for ten years this May 13. This was one of the nicest weekends ever.
